  • About these terms

These terms apply to offers, pricing and payment options referred to in Quality Dental Care's advertising and on this website. They are provided so that anyone considering treatment with us has clear, accurate information before booking. If anything here is unclear, please ask us — our team is happy to explain any of it before you make a decision.

Quality Dental Care Brighton practitioners are registered dental practitioners regulated by the Dental Board of Australia and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

    1. Free consultation offers

Any advertised free consultation is available by invitation following an initial phone discussion with our team. During this discussion, we will ask some general questions to understand the nature of your enquiry and whether the free consultation offer is suitable.

Eligibility for the free consultation offer is determined by Quality Dental Care at its discretion. The offer is subject to appointment availability and may not be appropriate for all enquiries. The initial phone discussion does not involve clinical advice, diagnosis, or a recommendation for treatment. Any clinical advice, assessment, diagnosis, or treatment options can only be provided by an appropriately qualified dental practitioner during a consultation.

This offer has no cash value, is not transferable, and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer unless expressly stated.

    What the free consultation is:

    • An opportunity to meet one of our dental practitioners, discuss your concerns and goals, and understand the options that may be available to you.
    • An assessment of your individual circumstances so that we can explain what treatment (if any) might be suitable for you.

What the free consultation is not:

    • It is not a commitment by you to undergo any treatment.
    • It is not a guarantee that any particular treatment is suitable, available or recommended for you. Suitability is assessed individually.
    • It does not include diagnostic services that may carry a separate cost (for example, certain imaging or scans). If any part of your visit would involve a cost, we will tell you before it is carried out, so you can decide whether to proceed.

Any free consultation offer may be varied or withdrawn at any time.

    2. Pricing

Any prices shown in our advertising or on this website — including any amount described as "from" a particular figure — are starting points or examples only. They are not quotes.

    • The actual cost of treatment depends on your individual clinical circumstances and the specific treatment plan developed for you.
    • A personalised quote is provided after your consultation and assessment, before any treatment begins.
    • Where a price is shown as a weekly or instalment amount (for example, "from $X per week"), the total cost of treatment, and the basis on which that weekly figure is calculated, are set out in your personalised quote and in the financing terms below. A weekly figure is not the total you will pay.

We will always give you the full cost of your proposed treatment in writing before you decide whether to proceed.

    3. Payment and financing options

We offer a range of ways to pay for treatment so that cost is easier to manage. The options that may be available include:

    • Payment upfront by the usual methods.
    • Private health insurance, where your treatment is covered. The amount covered depends on your level of cover and your insurer. We can provide the item numbers for your proposed treatment so you can check your cover with your fund.
    • Third-party financing may be provided by an independent finance provider (e.g. Afterpay, MediPay and TLC).

    Important information about financing:

    • Third-party finance is provided by an independent company, not by Quality Dental Care. Approval is subject to that provider's own eligibility criteria and assessment, and is not guaranteed.
    • Any fees, interest and terms for third-party finance are set by the provider and are set out in the provider's own documentation, which you should read before entering into any agreement.
    • Quality Dental Care does not provide financial advice. The payment options described here are provided for your information only. Whether a particular payment option is right for you depends on your own financial circumstances, and you should consider seeking independent financial advice before making a decision.

    4. Compassionate release of superannuation

In certain circumstances, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) may approve the early release of some superannuation on compassionate grounds to help pay for medical treatment, including certain dental treatment. Some patients ask us about this, so we have set out the key facts below.

Compassionate release of super is best understood as a last-resort option, not a standard way to fund treatment. It is worth knowing the following before considering it:

Eligibility is decided by the ATO, not by Quality Dental Care. We cannot approve, guarantee or assess your eligibility. The ATO assesses each application against its published criteria.

The ATO's criteria are strict. Broadly, for dental treatment the ATO requires that all of the following apply:

    • The treatment is necessary to treat a life-threatening illness or injury, to alleviate acute or chronic pain, or to alleviate an acute or chronic mental illness; and
    • The treatment is not readily available to you through the public health system; and
    • You have no other reasonable means to pay for the treatment (for example, savings, insurance, a loan or assistance from family); and
    • The expense has not already been paid.

The ATO generally requires supporting medical reports, including a report from a registered specialist in the relevant field.

Cosmetic treatment is not eligible. The ATO does not consider cosmetic procedures that are not required to treat a life-threatening illness or injury, or to alleviate acute or chronic pain or mental illness, to be eligible for compassionate release of super.

There can be long-term financial consequences. Withdrawing super early reduces your retirement savings and may have tax and other implications. Because of this, you should consider seeking independent financial advice before applying.

Quality Dental Care does not advise you to access your super, and is not a financial adviser. If a patient wishes to explore compassionate release of super, we can provide factual information about their proposed treatment to support an application that the patient chooses to make to the ATO. We do not lodge applications on your behalf or charge fees to assist with applications.

You can read the ATO's own guidance for patients here: ATO — Access on compassionate grounds

    5. Treatment outcomes

Every patient is different, and individual results vary. Any images, descriptions or examples of treatment shown in our advertising or on this website are illustrative only and are not a promise or guarantee of the outcome you will experience. Whether a treatment is suitable for you, and the likely result, can only be determined through an individual consultation and assessment with a dental practitioner. Like any health intervention, dental treatment carries risks, which your practitioner will discuss with you before you decide whether to proceed.

  • The $249 New Patient Visit offer is available to new patients only at Quality Dental Care Brighton. The offer includes a comprehensive dental examination, dental x-rays where clinically required, intraoral photographs, a professional clean with a dentist, and a personalised written treatment plan.

The maximum out-of-pocket cost for this offer is $249. If you have private health insurance, your eligible health fund rebate will be claimed first and you will only pay the difference, if any, up to a maximum of $249. If your eligible health fund rebate is $249 or more, there will be no gap payable for this offer. Health fund rebates vary depending on your insurer, level of cover, annual limits and eligibility.

All services provided as part of the offer are subject to the treating dentist’s clinical assessment and professional judgment. Dental x-rays, intraoral photographs and other diagnostic procedures will only be taken where the dentist considers them clinically appropriate. The offer does not guarantee that every listed service will be required or performed for every patient.

The included clean is a routine professional clean where clinically appropriate. If significant calculus build-up, gum disease, periodontal disease, complex clinical needs or other oral health concerns are identified, your dentist may recommend a separate hygiene, periodontal or treatment appointment for the best clinical outcome. Any additional treatment, appointments, diagnostic services or costs will be discussed with you before they are carried out.

The $249 New Patient Visit does not include fillings, extractions, periodontal treatment, specialist treatment, cosmetic treatment, whitening, emergency treatment, laboratory work, prescriptions, appliances, mouthguards, or any treatment not expressly included in the offer.

This offer is subject to appointment availability, is limited to one use per patient, has no cash value, is not transferable, and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer unless expressly stated. Quality Dental Care may vary or withdraw this offer at any time.

The New Patient Visit Offer is not a guarantee that any particular treatment will be suitable or recommended for you. Your dentist will assess your individual circumstances and discuss any relevant clinical findings, advice and treatment options with you during your appointment.
